CAFWCL: Masar FC edges Edo Queens in the third-place playoff

The 3rd place playoff of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League was held on Friday in Rabat Morocco between Nigeria’s Edo Queens and Masar FC.

The Nigerian side aiming to clinch the bronze medal and use as a consolation for missing out in the final.

But it was never meant to be as they find Masar FC a hard nut to crack.

The game started with both sides trying to outplay one another but none was able to break the deadlock throughout the first half.

The second stanza resumed with the Nigerian champions gaining more ground but failed to take their chances as the game ended in a scoreless affair.

They proceeded to a penalty shootout where Masar FC emerged victorious 4-3 and claimed the bronze medal.
