The Nigerian champions Edo Queens cruised into the semi-final of the CAF Women’s Champions League with a 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The Nigerian side came from a goal down to beat the defending and surprised the bookmakers.
Sundowns took the lead through Kgadiete midway into the first half and was able to hold in to the lead going into the halftime.
The Nigerian side came back stronger in the second half but was unable to come back into the game until 90th minute via Peace Essien.
Harry Mamudu sealed the game with a well taken goal in the 97th minute to ensure Edo Queens passage into the semi final.
