The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has been rescheduled to hold from July 25 to August 16, 2026.
CAF stated that the decision was taken to ensure the successful organization of the continent’s premier women’s football competition in light of unforeseen circumstances.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from March 17 to April 3, but the Moroccan authorities requested a postponement due to logistical reasons.
According to CAF, the new dates will provide the host nation and organizers with adequate time to finalize preparations and ensure that the competition meets the expected standards.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is Africa’s flagship tournament for women’s national teams and also serves as a platform for showcasing the rapid growth of women’s football across the continent.
