The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, which was originally set to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The tournament will now be held in August 2025, as reported by BSNSports.com.ng.
Despite substantial progress in the construction and upgrading of infrastructure, including stadiums, training facilities, hotels, hospitals, and other amenities, CAF’s Technical and Infrastructure experts, who have been assessing the host countries on-site, have determined that additional time is required to ensure the facilities meet the required standards for a successful event.
CAF will conduct the tournament draw on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in Nairobi. The exact start date for the competition in August 2025 will be announced in due course.
