Defending Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen closed the gap on league leaders Bayern Munich with a 3-1 win over VfL Bochum.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface, put his recent World Cup qualifier draw against Zimbabwe behind him to inspire Leverkusen to victory.
Garcia opened the scoring for Bochum in the 20th minute, but Pasalack equalized for the visitors. Boniface restored Leverkusen’s lead in the 60th minute before having another goal disallowed for offside in the 80th minute. Adli sealed the win in the 87th minute, securing all three points for Leverkusen.
Boniface has now scored eight goals in 16 appearances for the club this season.
