It was a night of mixed emotions for Super Eagles striker Gift Orban, who found the net but later picked up an injury in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 away win over Werder Bremen.
Orban, who joined Hoffenheim from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon during the winter transfer window, has quickly become a key player for the team with his impressive performances.
The game started with the hosts taking the lead through an own goal by Nsoki. However, Hoffenheim responded in the 28th minute when Anton Stach leveled the score.
Just before halftime, Thomas Bischol put the visitors ahead with a well-taken goal in the 44th minute. Orban then extended the lead in the 64th minute, making it 3-1 for Hoffenheim.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian forward was forced off in the 75th minute after sustaining an injury. Despite his absence, Hoffenheim held on to secure all three points.
