Bayern Munich made no mistake in their opening match at VfL Wolfsburg thanks to a late strike from Serge Gnabry.
Gnabry fired home the winning 3-2 from close range in the 82nd minute after a pass from striker Harry Kane.
Coach Vincent Kompany had already made his official debut for Bayern last week in the cup match against Ulm 4-0.
Croatian Lovro Majer gave the home team the lead with two goals.
Bayern still pulled the match towards them via an own goal by Poland’s Jakub Kaminski and Gnabry.
Substitute Thomas Müller made his 474th Bundesliga appearance, a new club record for Bayern.
