National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Bay FC has officially confirmed the departure of Nigerian international and Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, bringing her time with the American club to an end.

In an announcement released on Monday, the club revealed that Oshoala will be joining Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal in a permanent transfer deal.

“Bay FC and Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal have agreed to terms on a transfer for Asisat Oshoala. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this club,” the statement read.

Oshoala, who only joined Bay FC earlier this year, made an immediate impact with her goal-scoring prowess, quickly becoming a fan favorite and a key part of the team’s attacking line. Despite her short spell, she showcased her trademark pace, strength, and finishing ability that earned her global recognition as one of Africa’s finest football exports.

The move to Al-Hilal marks another significant chapter in Oshoala’s illustrious career. The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year has previously starred for top clubs including FC Barcelona Femeni, where she won multiple league titles and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her transfer also highlights the growing influence of Saudi Arabia in women’s football, as Al-Hilal continues to attract world-class talents to bolster their squad.

Oshoala expressed her gratitude to Bay FC, the fans, and her teammates, while looking forward to the new challenge in the Middle East.

With this move, the 29-year-old striker will be expected to bring her wealth of experience, leadership, and goal-scoring instincts to Al-Hilal as they aim to dominate women’s football in the region.
