The Basketball Africa League (BAL) on Thursday announced the 12 participating teams and the group phase schedule for the 2026 season.
According to the organisers, the new campaign will tip off on Friday, March 27 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
The 2026 edition will feature 12 teams divided into groups, with the group phase to be played across selected host cities on the continent as the league continues its home-and-away conference format.
Nigeria’s representative, Maktown Flyers, will compete in the Rabat Conference scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco, from April 24 to May 3.
The BAL, a partnership between National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), continues to grow in profile and commercial appeal, bringing together top club sides from across Africa.
