The Austrian Football Association is reportedly in talks to secure the international allegiance of Carney Chukwuemeka ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 22-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder has represented England at youth levels, including the under-19 side that lifted the 2022 European Championship trophy, and has also played for the under-20s.
However, Chukwuemeka has yet to make a senior appearance for England, leaving the door open for a switch.
Born in Eisenstadt, Austria, to Nigerian parents, Chukwuemeka spent his early childhood in Austria before relocating to Northampton, England, where he later acquired British citizenship.
The former Chelsea and Aston Villa player now faces a decision over his international future.
