Following the strings of poor results AS Roma has fired coach Daniele De Rossi on Wednesday.
The Italian club holds the former midfielder responsible for the poor results of the past period.
“The club takes this decision so that the team can get back on the right track as soon as possible,” AS Roma wrote on the club website.
“We thank Daniele for his efforts in recent months. AS Roma will always be his home.”
Roma are still waiting for their first victory of the season after four rounds in Serie A.
In four league matches, Roma have scored only twice. With only three points, the club is sixteenth in Serie A.
The 41-year-old De Rossi had been in charge of Roma’s first team since the beginning of the year, succeeding José Mourinho, who had been sacked after a poor run.
Roma has not yet announced who will succeed De Rossi, and the Roman club will compete against AZ in the Europa League.
