Nigeria’s Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has insisted that any team that will take a point from the team in the upcoming Olympics will have to sweat for it.
The nine-time African champions will commence their campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games against Brazil on Thursday, July, 25.
While speaking on Cable TV, the Bay FC forward admitted that it would be tough against their group opponents but quickly declared the readiness of the team to fight.
“I’m not going to lie, we are in a very tough group, we are in the same group as Brazil, Spain, and Japan,” Oshoala said.
“Spain are current World champion and Japan also champion in the past.
“The kind of resilience in this current Super Falcons is very different.
“We have players, that play in top clubs around the World, so you can’t really push our team aside.
“Whichever team that will get points from us will have to work for it.
“I promise you that this team is very different and we are going for it and make it “, she said.
Falcons are returning to the ancient games for the first time since 2008.
The Randy Waldrum’s ladies will fly into France on Thursday, where they will spend a week in further training ahead of their first match of the tournament against Brazil at the Stade Bordeaux on Thursday, July 25.
Nigeria’s other matches in the group phase are against Spain (July 28) and Japan (July 31), both at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
