Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena has been confirmed as the sole candidate to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA announced on Friday.
The iconic Munich venue, which also staged the 2025 final where Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Milan 5–0, stands unopposed for the 2028 edition.
The Allianz Arena has previously hosted Europe’s biggest club fixture in 2012 and 2025, while Munich’s Olympic Stadium was the stage for the finals in 1979, 1993, and 1997.
Meanwhile, London’s Wembley Stadium and the renovated Camp Nou in Barcelona are competing to host the 2029 final. UEFA is expected to make its decision on that venue in September 2026.
For context, this season’s Champions League final will take place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, with Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium set to host in 2027.
