Nigeria’s D’Tigress will clash with former champions Mali today (Sunday) in the final of the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
This marks the first-ever final meeting between the two sides at the AfroBasket.
To book their place in the final, D’Tigress edged past Senegal 75–68, while Mali secured their spot by defeating South Sudan in the other semifinal.
The Nigerian side will be chasing a record-extending fifth consecutive AfroBasket title and their seventh overall. Meanwhile, Mali will be aiming to claim their first championship since 2007 a victory that would also see them join Egypt and Angola as two-time winners of the tournament.
