The Super Eagles’ camp ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has continued to swell, with 21 invited players now in camp as preparations intensify.
The team opened camp in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday, with invited players arriving gradually to begin preparations for Africa’s biggest football tournament. By Monday, the number of players in camp had risen to 21, signaling a positive start to the build-up.
The Super Eagles held their first training session on Monday evening in Cairo, focusing on light drills and tactical work as the technical crew begins to shape the squad ahead of upcoming engagements.
As part of their preparations, Nigeria will face host nation Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday, a fixture expected to provide the coaching staff with an early assessment of player fitness, cohesion, and tactical balance.
Players already in camp include goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie and Akinsanmiro Ebenezer. Defenders and wing-backs such as Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Zaidu Sanusi, Igho Ogbu, Bruno Onyemaechi and Tochukwu Nnadi have also reported for duty.
Midfield options available include Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ralph Onyedika, while the attacking unit features Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu, Cyril Dessers, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke.
More players are expected to join the camp in the coming days as Nigeria steps up preparations for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
