In a tense quarterfinal clash at Suez Stadium, the match ended 0-0 after both regulation and extra time.
The game went to penalties, where Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Harcourt, emerged as the hero by saving two of Senegal’s attempts. Meanwhile, Nigeria converted all three of their penalties.
This victory not only sent the Flying Eagles to the semifinals but also secured their spot in the upcoming U-20 World Cup.
