The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) officially announced a new head coach for the Carthage Eagles on Monday, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement released on its official Facebook page, the FTF confirmed the appointment of Sami Trabelsi as the national team’s new coach.
“The Executive Committee of the Federation (FTF) has decided, in its meeting held on Monday, February 10, 2025, to appoint Mr. Sami Trabelsi as the new national coach,” the statement read.
The 57-year-old coach returns to lead the team after previously managing the A team from 2011 to 2013.
By appointing Trabelsi, Tunisia continues to place its trust in local coaching expertise.
The former Al-Sailiya SC coach will now look to rebuild the Carthage Eagles, who have faced inconsistent results since their early exit from CAN 2023.
