The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to arrive in Fés, Morocco, on Thursday as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Eric Chelle’s side, who have been in camp in Cairo, Egypt, since Sunday, will depart for Morocco aboard a chartered flight. The three-time African champions opened their pre-tournament camp in the Egyptian capital as part of their final build-up to Africa’s biggest football competition.
While in Cairo, the Super Eagles are scheduled to take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a pre-AFCON international friendly at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday. The encounter is expected to provide the technical crew with a final opportunity to assess the squad ahead of the tournament proper.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the AFCON 2025 finals, where they will face Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and the Cranes of Uganda.
The Super Eagles will begin their campaign against Tanzania on Tuesday, 23 December, before taking on 2004 hosts and champions Tunisia on Saturday, 27 December. Their final group fixture will be against Uganda on Tuesday, 30 December.
All of Nigeria’s Group C matches will be played at the Complexe Sportif de Fés in Morocco.
