South Africa’s U20 team booked their place in the final of the 18th Africa U20 Cup of Nations with a narrow 1-0 victory over Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in a tense semi-final encounter.
Despite Nigeria’s relentless pressure, the Amajita remained composed and disciplined, absorbing the heat before striking decisively midway through the second half.
The lone goal was enough to knock out the seven-time champions and send South Africa through to the final.
The Flying Eagles will now contest the third-place match on Sunday against the loser of the second semi-final between hosts Egypt and Morocco.
