Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has released a strong and balanced 28-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, headlined by in-form stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Wilfred Ndidi.

Chelle kept faith with first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, while also recalling Cyprus-based Francis Uzoho. Tanzania-based Amas Obasogie completes the goalkeeping department.

In defence, the Franco-Malian tactician selected a blend of experience and youth, with Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Chidozie Awaziem all making the list. There is also a return for Igoh Ogbu, while England-based Ryan Alebiosu receives his first-ever call-up.

The midfield is packed with dynamism as Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru lead the line, alongside debutants Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Usman Muhammed, and Tochukwu Nnadi.

Up front, Chelle has assembled one of the most feared attacking lines on the continent. AFCON 2025 poster boy Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke, Akor Adams, Cyriel Dessers and returning striker Paul Onuachu are all included. Croatia-based Salim Fago Lawal earns his first international call-up.

Road to Morocco

The Super Eagles will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in a high-profile friendly on 16th December at the Cairo International Stadium. The team will then fly to Fès—venue of their Group C fixtures—on 18th December.

Nigeria opens its AFCON campaign against Tanzania on 23rd December, before facing Tunisia on 27th December, and rounding up group action against Uganda on 30th December.
