The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon booked their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Sunday evening.

Tchamad opened the scoring for Cameroon in the first half, before Kofane doubled the lead in the second half.

South Africa pulled one back through Makgopa in the 88th minute, but it proved too little, too late as the Bafana Bafana were unable to find an equalizer.

With this win, Cameroon, five-time African champions, will face host nation Morocco in Friday’s quarterfinal.

The Atlas Lions advanced earlier in the day thanks to Brahim Díaz’s decisive goal, setting up what promises to be a thrilling clash between the two sides.
