With preparations intensifying ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the official list of match officials invited for a pre-tournament training camp.
According to the African football governing body, a total of 33 referees, 36 assistant referees, and 11 Video Assistant Referees (VARs) have been shortlisted for the intensive program.
The training, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt, is designed to ensure that all officials are in top condition and well-prepared for the high standards expected at Africa’s biggest football event.
CAF emphasized that the workshop will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of officiating, including fitness assessments, game management, and the use of VAR technology.
The 2025 AFCON is scheduled to take place in Morocco, with top referees across the continent expected to handle matches at the tournament.
