‘A man driven by passion’ — Iloenyosi mourns Ifeanyi Ubah

The Anambra State FA Chairman  Chikelue Iloenyosi has expressed rude shock on the news of the demise of his predecessor, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

He described the ugly situation as a huge loss for Nigerian football as he recounted the good times of the former Club Owner.

According to the former Super Eagles player, who disclosed that he is still in shock since the news broke.

“Honestly I don’t know how to react to this news. This really hit home. The whole of Nigerian Football and Political terrain have been thrown into mourning because of the passing of a man who left his mark on every sector he played a part in. He was a man driven by passion. The story of Anambra football won’t be complete without him as he did his part diligently as the FA Chairman and also as the proprietor of the defunct FC Ifeanyi Ubah. He invested heavily in football thereby giving an option to many youths especially those of Anambra extraction”

The FA Chairman disclosed that the FA will be in communication with the family and will help role in the burial of its former chairman.

“On behalf of the entire Board Members of Anambra State Football Association, we pray God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss. We will mourn him and pay him every respect he deserves as a foremost football person. We will open a register at the Secretariat in Awka for anyone that wants to pay a solidarity visit. We will be in communication with the family to know how to assist in his burial. For now, we only owe him our prayers. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.”

The Late Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah before his death was a renowned sporting icon in Nigeria. A one time FA Chairman of the state, the financier of FC Ifeanyi Ubah and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
