Kelechi Iheanacho made a dream start to life at Celtic, netting a late winner in their 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward, who joined Brendan Rodgers’ side on a free transfer two weeks ago, began the match on the bench.

Celtic broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half when Daizen Maeda nodded in Marcelo Saracchi’s precise cross from close range.

Kilmarnock responded seven minutes from time, with David Watson heading home to level the contest.

Introduced for Maeda in the 70th minute, Iheanacho kept his composure deep into stoppage time, converting a penalty to seal all three points for the Hoops on his debut.
