Nigeria international Junior Ajayi has joined Jordanian powerhouse Al Wehdat SC, sealing a fresh chapter in his professional career after a stint in Libya.
Ajayi, spent last season with Al Hilal SC of Benghazi, where he played a key role in helping the club finish second in the Libyan Premier League. His performances highlighted by crucial goals and assists caught the attention of scouts across the Middle East, paving the way for his move to Jordan.
Al Wehdat confirmed the signing on Saturday, describing the former Super Eagles forward as an experienced addition to bolster their attack ahead of the new Jordanian Pro League campaign.
Ajayi began his career in Nigeria with Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) before moving to North Africa, where he gained prominence with stints at CS Sfaxien in Tunisia and Al Ahly SC in Egypt, winning several domestic titles and the CAF Champions League with the latter.
Known for his strength, creativity, and eye for goal, Ajayi is expected to add depth and experience to Al Wehdat’s front line as they target domestic glory and a strong run in Asian club competitions this season.
With this move, the former Nigerian U23 star continues a journey that has taken him across Africa and now into the Middle East, further underlining his reputation as one of Nigeria’s seasoned football exports.
