The countdown to Africa’s premier football showpiece is officially underway as organisers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have installed giant countdown clocks in all six host cities, marking 100 days until kick-off.

The striking timepieces now adorn central locations in Rabat, Casablanca, Fès, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir, reminding fans that the continent’s biggest football festival is just around the corner.

They will tick away the days until 21 December, when hosts Morocco face Comoros in Rabat to launch the 35th edition of the tournament.

This year’s AFCON will be Morocco’s first as host since 1988, and organisers have promised an unforgettable fan experience, blending the kingdom’s famed hospitality with the electric atmosphere of African football.

Supporters in each host city are expected to embrace the occasion, filling some of Africa’s most iconic arenas with colour, noise and passion. The tournament will climax with the final in Rabat on 18 January 2026, when a new champion will lift the coveted trophy.

Beyond the excitement of this edition, the clocks also highlight Morocco’s growing status as a global football destination, with the country set to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.

With the road to Morocco 2025 entering its final stretch, the clock is officially ticking toward a month of history, drama and unforgettable moments.
