Rio Ferdinand’s eldest son, Lorenz, has signed his first professional contract with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the Seagulls’ youth setup in 2022, has steadily progressed through the ranks, featuring for the U18 and U21 teams.
Lorenz initially started at U18 level three years ago and gained valuable experience during a short loan spell with non-league side Havant & Waterlooville last season.
At youth level, he has made 20 appearances in the U18 Premier League, along with two FA Youth Cup outings, one Premier League Cup game, and a Premier League 2 appearance.
Now, with his first professional deal secured, the young shot-stopper is set to continue his development and push for more opportunities with Brighton’s senior setup.
