Morocco head coach Jorge Vilda insists the Atlas Lionesses are unfazed by the challenge of facing Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The hosts will battle the record nine-time champions at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Saturday as they chase their first-ever WAFCON title.

Nigeria, the most successful team in the competition’s history, have been impressive at the tournament, scoring 11 goals and conceding just once under head coach Justine Madugu. The Super Falcons also boast some of the best players on the continent.

Despite Nigeria’s pedigree, Vilda maintains his side will approach the clash with confidence.

“Nigeria have shown great improvement throughout the tournament and have overcome some very difficult teams, but we will face them without any inferiority complex,” Vilda said at a press conference in Rabat on Friday.
