The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of experienced tacticians Manu Garba and Moses Aduku as head coaches of the U17 Boys National Team (Golden Eaglets) and U20 Girls National Team (Falconets), respectively.

The appointments, approved by the NFF Executive Committee following recommendations from the Federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee, see Garba return to the Golden Eaglets a team he famously guided to Nigeria’s fourth FIFA U17 World Cup title in the United Arab Emirates in 2013. He also led the squad to the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Aduku, meanwhile, replaces Chris Danjuma as Falconets head coach. A respected figure in women’s football, Aduku has enjoyed successful stints with Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens and served as assistant coach when the Falconets reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Both coaches are set to officially assume duties on Sunday as their teams prepare for key assignments.

The Falconets face Rwanda in a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier in September, while the Golden Eaglets will compete in the WAFU B U17 Tournament, which Nigeria will host the same month.
