Inter Milan’s Nigerian talent, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, has officially joined newly-promoted Serie A side Pisa on a season-long loan.

The Italian giants confirmed the transfer on their official website, stating that the agreement includes both a purchase option for Pisa and a buyback clause in favor of Inter.

Akinsanmiro, 20, signed with Inter in 2023 from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit Remo Stars. The highly-rated midfielder reportedly attracted interest from top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Benfica, before choosing the Nerazzurri.

Upon his arrival, Akinsanmiro spent his first season with Inter’s Primavera (U-19) squad, honing his skills before going out on loan to Sampdoria last season. He impressed in Serie B with consistent performances and regular minutes for the Blucerchiati.

Now, the Nigerian youngster is set for another chapter in his development with Pisa, who earned promotion to Serie A after finishing as runners-up in the 2024–25 Serie B season marking their return to Italy’s top flight for the first time in 34 years.

Founded in 1909, Pisa has a storied but turbulent history, having been re-founded twice due to financial difficulties. The club last played in Serie A during the early 1990s and now aims to re-establish itself among Italy’s elite.

Akinsanmiro’s arrival is seen as part of Pisa’s strategy to strengthen their squad for the challenges of top-flight football.
