The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday released its latest world rankings for July, with Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropping to 44th globally and 5th in Africa.
The three-time African champions slipped down the table due to recent inactivity in international matches.
Meanwhile, reigning World Cup holders Argentina maintained their number one position. The Albiceleste have continued their strong form in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, securing early qualification and reinforcing their dominance on the global stage.
Spain, France, and England occupy the second, third, and fourth spots respectively, while Brazil round out the top five.
The next edition of the FIFA world rankings will be published on September 18.
