Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has made a return to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), despite narrowly losing out in the last executive committee elections held in Tanzania.

In the lead-up to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which kicks off on Saturday, CAF’s executive committee, led by president Patrice Motsepe, convened in Rabat, Morocco, to deliberate on key issues.

One of the major decisions from the meeting was the appointment of Pinnick as Special Adviser to the CAF President—a position that was officially approved by the Congress.

With this new role, Pinnick will now participate in CAF Executive Committee meetings as part of his advisory duties.
