The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a commendable 1-1 draw against Russia in an international friendly played on Friday.
The match was arranged as part of preparations for both nations ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Russia dominated large portions of the game and took the lead after Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi inadvertently scored an own goal.
Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface started the match but was later substituted for Tolulope Arokodare, who went on to become Nigeria’s hero by scoring the equalizer.
The RKC Genk forward’s late goal ensured the Super Eagles avoided defeat and came away with a draw.
