As they gear up for a decisive 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana have scheduled a friendly match to fine-tune their preparations.

The international friendly, set to take place in June, will see Bafana Bafana take on the Taifa Stars of Tanzania. This match is part of the team’s buildup to the crucial encounter with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The upcoming qualifier is pivotal for South Africa, the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations champions, as it could determine the fate of their World Cup hopes.

According to the South African Football Association, the friendly aims to provide valuable match practice and assess the team’s readiness ahead of the high-stakes qualifier.

Currently, South Africa leads the group standings, while Nigeria sits in fifth place, facing a more challenging path to qualification.
