Galatasaray vice president İbrahim Hatipoğlu remains optimistic about the club’s chances of securing Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal this summer.
Osimhen is currently on loan at the Turkish Super Lig champions from Serie A side Napoli. The Nigerian striker could be signed outright for a reported fee of €75 million.
Despite being linked with several top European clubs, the 26-year-old has not ruled out staying in Istanbul. Following Galatasaray’s recent victory over Samsunspor, Osimhen said he would decide his future at the end of the season.
“His comments don’t necessarily mean he’s leaving,” Hatipoğlu told AS. “He said that even in the worst-case scenario, Galatasaray would always have a place in his heart. But he didn’t confirm he was going. We still want him to stay.”
