Dutch coach Ronald Koeman has not given up hope of a return to FC Barcelona, the Dutch national coach still wants to work in Catalonia after his dismissal in 2021.
Koeman felt disrespected by current club president Joan Laporta when he was sacked in 2021, before that dismissal, the two were already at odds with each other.
“I have a dream to return to this club,” Koeman said Friday morning during a charity golf tournament in Barcelona.
“It won’t be as a coach. I want to help with the technique of footballers. But I will only do that under a different president.”
Koeman once again took advantage of the press moment to talk about the problems of FC Barcelona, which, according to him, is “in many respects” losing out to arch-rival and reigning national champion Real Madrid.
“The problem for Barcelona in recent years has been that Messi, Xavi, and I have left”, he added.
Koeman was a coach for a year and a half at the club where he played as a defender from 1989 to 1995.
