Basira FC of Lafia, a Nigeria National League (NNL) club, has confirmed the tragic passing of one of its players, Promise Andrew, following a surgical procedure.
In an official statement released on Saturday, the club expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
“Basira Football Club Lafia is heartbroken to receive the devastating news of the passing of our player, Promise Andrew, who died on Friday, February 7, 2025, after undergoing surgery in Lafia.”
The club noted that Andrew had been part of their squad since the 2024/2025 season screening and had spent over six months with the team.
