Nigeria’s Super Falcons and UDG Tenerife forward, Monday Gift, has been named the Spanish Iberdrola Player of the Month for February.
The 23-year-old impressed with two goals in three league appearances during the month, finding the net against Sevilla and Valencia. Her Super Falcons teammate, Rinsola Babajide, also scored in both matches.
Monday edged out Real Madrid’s Alba Redondo, Barcelona’s Caroline Hansen, Deportivo La Coruña’s Ainhoa Marín, Athletic Club’s Ane Azkona, Granada’s Ari Mingueza, and Eibar’s Elba Vergés to claim the award.
So far this season, she has netted 10 goals in 18 league appearances for Tenerife.
