Tunisia’s football community was stirred on Friday following the sentencing of former Football Federation president Wadie Jary.
A high court in the North African nation handed Jary a four-year prison sentence after finding him guilty of multiple offenses.
The case originated from a judicial complaint filed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which highlighted the illegal nature of a contract between the Federation and a Technical Director.
Jary had faced several accusations over the years, including match-fixing, financial irregularities, and money laundering.
He previously served as the Federation’s president since 2012.
