Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi will be available for selection against Newcastle United.
The Nigerian forward suffered a broken nose after a collision with Exeter City goalkeeper Joe Whitworth during their Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie two weeks ago.
The injury sidelined him for Forest’s recent defeat to Fulham.
However, Santo has assured that the 27-year-old will be part of the squad traveling to St James’ Park.
“Yes, yes, he has cleared the concussion protocol,” Santo told reporters on Friday.
“So, he (Awoniyi) is available. He will have to wear a mask, but he is ready to play.”
