The Local Organizing Committee for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco has denied rumors circulating on social media about a possible postponement.
Despite the tournament’s history of delays in recent editions, organizers insist that preparations are on track. With the group stage draw already completed, speculation about a postponement has spread online.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has dismissed these claims, calling them part of a misinformation campaign. It confirmed that the tournament will proceed as scheduled, running from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in coordination with the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
