Harry Maguire’s late header secured a 2-1 victory for Manchester United over Leicester City in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round at Old Trafford on Friday.

Wilfred Ndidi made his return to Leicester’s starting lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him since December 2025.

Leicester took the lead in the 42nd minute through Bobby De Cordova-Reid. Boubakary Soumaré won the ball back and passed it to Bilal El Khannouss, who then set up Ndidi for a shot that was saved by United’s goalkeeper, Onana. However, De Cordova-Reid was quick to react, heading the rebound into the net from close range.

United came out with more intent in the second half, nearly equalizing when Caleb Okoli cleared the ball off the line.

The equalizer came in the 68th minute through Joshua Zirkzee. Alejandro Garnacho skillfully beat his defender on the left wing and delivered a cross. A Leicester player blocked an initial shot, and Zirkzee was on hand to tap into the empty net.

Maguire then became the match-winner, leaping highest to head in Bruno Fernandes’ corner kick, securing a 2-1 win and sending the defending FA Cup champions, Manchester United, into the fifth round.
