With the winter transfer window closing in less than 48 hours, Everton FC has entered the race for the services of Taiwo Awoniyi, the Nigeria international forward currently at Nottingham Forest.
The Super Eagles striker has found it difficult to secure regular playing time this season and is behind Chris Wood in the club’s attacking hierarchy. Initially, West Ham United showed interest in Awoniyi after Mikail Antonio’s injury.
Despite his limited appearances, the 27-year-old has expressed his preference to stay at Forest. However, Everton are reportedly planning a late move for the former Union Berlin star as they look to bolster their attacking options. Awoniyi is said to be one of several names on the Toffees’ radar, with a £33.5 million budget to sign two players before the window shuts.
