Super Eagles and Kasimpasa defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has shared his thoughts on the future of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Omeruo, who previously played for Sunshine Stars before moving abroad, has made it clear that he does not plan to return to play in the league. However, he expressed interest in being involved in the NPFL through scouting.

Speaking via his social media account on Space X Live, Omeruo explained: “I don’t see myself returning to the Nigerian league as a player, but I am someone who enjoys scouting talented players. I know the quality of football in Nigeria is immense, and after my playing career, I would love to help manage the league.”

He also emphasized the need for the league to evolve, saying, “We should be selling players like the Brazilians, not for small amounts.”

Other former international players like Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, and Brown Ideye have recently decided to return to the NPFL.
