Liverpool returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Brentford, securing all three points thanks to two late goals from Darwin Núñez.
Despite a solid performance from Brentford’s goalkeeper Mark Flekken, who kept Liverpool at bay for much of the match, Núñez’s goals in injury time ensured Liverpool avoided a third consecutive league draw.
Meanwhile, Leicester City, under the guidance of Ruud van Nistelrooy, were defeated 2-0 by Fulham.
Emile Smith Rowe broke the deadlock just after halftime, and Adama Traoré sealed the win for Fulham in the 68th minute. The loss marked Leicester’s seventh defeat in a row in the Premier League under Van Nistelrooy.
