Emmanuel Ekong, born in Italy to Nigerian parents, has signed a five-year contract with Swedish club Malmö FF.
Ekong began his football journey at IF Brommapojkarna in Sweden before relocating to Italy at the age of 16 to pursue a youth career with Empoli.
After four years, he made his Serie A debut, and in October of the previous year, he earned his first call-up to the Swedish U21 national team.
In the early part of the autumn season, Ekong made 15 Serie A starts and featured in two Coppa Italia matches, scoring in both.
The previous season, the 22-year-old spent a year on loan at NK Istra, where he gained valuable experience in the Croatian top division.
