President of the Authentic Football and Allied Sports Supporters club, Abayomi Ogunjimi, has congratulated the newly appointed Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade.

Olopade, who was a successful former Commissioner for Sports in Ogun State, was announced as the new NSC DG on Thursday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

His appointment comes just few weeks after Shehu Dikko was named the Chairman of the newly established Sports Commission, following the scrapping of the Ministry of Sports Development.

According to Ogunjimi; “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has once again shown that Sports is a key part of his Renewed Hope Agenda with the appointment of Dikko and Olopade.

“Olapade is a seasoned Sports Technocrat and Administrator who has been doing a lot in promoting Nigerian Sports from the Private sector, and his appointment is well deserved one

“As key stakeholders in Nigeria Sports , the Authentic supporters club will do everything to ensure that both Olopade and Dikko succeed in their new assignment to rebrand Nigerian Sports”.

The new Director General, National Sports Commission Bukola Olopade who hails from Gbagura in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State was
the former Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports and MD/CEO, of NILAYO Sports Management Limited.

Olopade is a reputable Egba tilted Chief who was recently installed as Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo.

He’s also currently the Chairman, of the Local Organising Committee LOC for the upcoming National Sports Festival which is scheduled to be held by January 2025 in Ogun State.

Olopade has carved an inch for himself in the Sports Industry with a sterling profile that is always a cynosure of all eyes in Nigeria and beyond.

“Nigerians have been clamouring for the right people to mount Nigeria Sports and finally that yearning has been listened to by Mr President”, Ogunjimi concluded.
