The coach of the Nigerian champions Edo Queens Moses Adukwu has expressed satisfaction about the performance of the team.

The WAFU B champions on Sunday evening walloped CBE FC of Ethiopia 3-0 in the opening group game of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League playoffs.

Adukwu admitted that the Ethiopian club was a formidable opponent.

“We played a wonderful game, the victory was sweet, we got our chances and we took them,” he told the club’s media,” Adukwu said.

”The game was very tough, our opponent is not a pushover, we denied them the opportunity to play and tried to impose our game, we got the opportunity, and scored.

“If you must stay in the competition, you need to win your first game, that was our mindset.

”As a debutant, we believe, if we win, we have the opportunity to move ahead.”

Edo Queens will face FC Masar of Egypt in their next game on Wednesday.
