Former Nigerian International Osaze Odemwingie has backed Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman to emerge as the 2024 African Player of the Year.
The debates of who will succeed Victor Osimhen as the player of the year in the continent reached the crescendo last week with Morocco and Real Madrid player Brahim Diaz and another Nigerian International Victor Boniface in the midst.
While speaking to Brila FM, former West Brom attacker said Lookman’s present form gave him the edge
“Playing for Real Madrid is a statement on its own, but Lookman at the moment is judged according to his great potential for the future,” Odemwingie said.
“He is productive, scoring goals and doing well in his club side, I don’t know the exact criteria but in football, they say you’re only good as your last game.”
