German Bundesliga round-up: Leverkusen lose points, as Dortmund suffers defeat

Bayer Leverkusen suffered a surprising loss of points in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

In Xabi Alonso’s 100th match as coach of the club, a 2-0 lead was lost to Holstein Kiel finish 2-2.

Leverkusen had a dream start and were 2-0 up within ten minutes with goals from Victor Boniface and Jonas Hofmann.

Holstein Kiel halved the deficit before half-time via Max Geschwill, Jann-Fiete Arp provided the equalizer in the second half from the spot after a foul by Jeremie Frimpong and Leverkusen could not get the win after that.

 

Boadu scored the equalizer for Bochum in the second half, but then Wolfsburg extended the margin to two goals again as the game ended 1-3 to Wolfsburg .

 

Yorbe Vertessen contributed to Union Berlin’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund with a goal.

Japanese International Ritsu Doan scored the only goal of the game as Freiburg defeated Werder Bremen 1-0.
